I find this article very well formulated and perfectly
suited for a non-expert. It would however be adequate
to the importance of gauge theories in particle physics
if this elementary presentation would be complemented
by a more technically elaborate one. E.g., The issue of
renormalization of gauge theories would certainly be of
interest for a wider public.
